KATHMANDU, June 25: CPN (Maoist Center) MP Suresh Kumar Ale Magar has urged the government not to harbor parochial thinking to grant citizenship certificates in the name of mother.
Speaking at a special session of the National Assembly on Friday, Ale Magar said that no citizen should be rendered stateless. Stating that Nepali society is still guided by patriarchal thinking, he said that there is a need to fight against such thinking.

Ale Magar stressed on the need to resolve the problem of citizenship by bringing the Citizenship Bill in the current parliament session and endorsing it.
On the occasion, Ale Magar also drew the attention of the government over the rising prices of petroleum products. He demanded the government to ease the vehicular movement in Manang district as the situation there is still dire due to last year's floods.
