DPM Khadka asserted that the Karnali Corridor would be kept in priority in the budget for the next fiscal year. "The country's economy is in stress at present. But despite this, we are planning to move ahead with the Corridor project as a multi-year project and consider it as a national priority project," he said, adding that all ministers representing Karnali Province in the federal government should move ahead and work on this on a priority basis.

Khadka further said the DPR of Ratna Highway has been prepared and works forwarded accordingly while the Birendranagar-Telpon-Bhugaon road has also been kept in priority.

Stating that there is a tradition of relegating Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces to the back burner in the federal budget, the deputy prime minister reiterated that now this tradition would be broken and these provinces will be kept in priority in the federal budget.
