‘Gyanendra Shah does not pay tax’

DAMAK, March 19: Himalaya Mahalaxmi Tea Garden based in Damak Municipality, which is owned by Gyanendra Shah, has not paid tax worth over Rs 40 million. Shah has not paid the tax even after he was stripped of all his kingly power and reduced to a common citizen.

DAMAK, March 19: Himalaya Mahalaxmi Tea Garden based in Damak Municipality, which is owned by Gyanendra Shah, has not paid tax worth over Rs 40 million. Shah has not paid the tax even after he was stripped of all state power and reduced to a common citizen.


"Gyanendra Shah has not turned up at the Land Revenue Office despite repeated calls.We dispatched letters to Shah many times, even urged him to clear tax during his visit to Damak, but in vain,” Tikaram Dahal, Chief of Revenue Section of Damak Municipality, told

Himalaya Mahalaxmi Tea Garden owes Rs 38.141,284.74 million to the government under the integrated property tax.


Then Executive Officer of Damak Municipality Yubaraj Dahal together with the other stakeholders urged him to pay long-overdue tax during his visit to Damak Municipality in 2073 BS.
