Walnuts have a significantly higher content of omega-3 fat, the fat important for the development of brain.  Omega-3 fat, more scientifically known as the alpha-linolenic acid (ALA), is deemed to be essential in a diet. You can consume 2.5 grams of ALA per 28-gram serving of walnuts.


Heart health: 


Walnuts lower the risk of heart diseases in people. According to a study by the British Journal of Nutrition, people who ate nuts more than four times a week had a lower risk of coronary heart disease by as much as 37%.


Healthy Gut:  


The presence of beneficial bacteria and microbes in your guts promotes good health. The presence of unhealthy bacteria in your guts might lead you to obesity, heart disease and cancer. Eating walnuts increases the presence of healthy bacteria in the guts.
