KATHMANDU, Aug 15: The Ministry of Health has directed the doctors, who are under investigation on the charge of holding fake academic certificate, from carrying out medical practice and to be present at the Ministry immediately.
Investigation was underway suspecting educational certificate of three doctors working at different hospitals and health institutions under the Ministry as fake. The Ministry has not revealed the identity of the doctors.
Health Secretary Dr Senendra Raj Upreti told the National News Agency (RSS) that the Ministry has directed the doctors not to carry out medical practice and to be present at the Ministry immediately.
Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal on Sunday had directed the Secretary Dr Upreti to stop the doctors from practicing after getting the information that the doctors have returned to their work stations and started carrying out medical practice after their release from custody.
The Nepal Police, Central Investigation Bureau had arrested some 50 doctors after questions were raised over their educational qualification and forwarded investigation in it. RSS
