KATHMANDU, Oct 25: Secretary of the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) Dr Pushpa Chaudhari, who had fallen into controversy related to the Kathmandu National Medical College, has been transferred to the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO). Dr Chaudhari has been accused of playing a supportive role to illegally grant permission to the medical college to run a hospital. According to the PMO, the transfer decision was made before the Dashain festival. In her absence, joint-secretary Sushil Nath Pyakurel will work as acting secretary of the MoHP.
