Hearing for proposed SC justices scheduled for December 15, discussions with complainants concluded

KATHMANDU, Dec 10: The Parliamentary Hearing Committee (PHC) of the Federal Parliament has concluded discussions with the individuals who filed complaints against the proposed justices for the Supreme Court. A total of 10 different people have filed complaints against the proposed six justices.

KATHMANDU, Dec 10: The Parliamentary Hearing Committee (PHC) of the Federal Parliament has concluded discussions with the individuals who filed complaints against the proposed justices for the Supreme Court. A total of 10 different people have filed complaints against the proposed six justices.


In the meeting of the committee on Sunday, the issues raised in the complaints were discussed with the complainants.

Padam Prasad Pandey, Secretary of the House of Representatives said that the hearing of the proposed justices in the Supreme Court (SC) will be held only on December 15. In the meantime, he said, the hearing date has been postponed due to the internal matters of some political parties.        


The meeting held on November 21 of the Judicial Council recommended the names of Saranga Subedi, Abdul Aziz Muslim, Mahesh Sharma Paudyal, Tek Prasad Dhungana, Sunil Pokharel and Bal Krishna Dhakal as justices of the SC. There is a constitutional provision that they will be appointed only after their names are approved by the PHC.
