The Supreme Court published the list of appearances on Wednesday and announced that the hearing of 15 writ petitions related to the appointment of office-bearers of constitutional bodies had been postponed.

The writ petition against the 52 constitutional officials appointed during the Oli government has been pending in the Supreme Court for 27 months. A writ petition was filed in the Supreme Court claiming that an ordinance had been issued in conflict with the constitutional provisions, that the decision was taken by the Constitutional Council meeting without informing all the members, and that the officials were appointed without a parliamentary hearing.
Chief Justice Cholendra SJB Rana did not allow the hearing on the case to proceed. After his suspension, the two chief justices have also given less priority to hearing the case. Earlier on February 15, hearing on the case was adjourned.
