KATHMANDU, Feb 26: The hearing of the case related to the former captain of Nepali cricket, Sandeep Lamichhane, is underway at a closed bench of the Supreme Court.
The hearing by the Supreme Court on the petition filed by the government against the order of the High Court, Patan, to release Lamichhane on bail and the petition seeking the apex court’s order to allow Lamichhane to go abroad is underway by a closed bench.

Both the writ petitions are being heard by the bench of Supreme Court Justices Sapana Pradhan Malla and Kumar Chudal. The Supreme Court said that the bench had already ordered the writ petitions to be held in a closed bench and accordingly the hearing is being conducted by a closed bench.
There is a legal provision that rape cases can be heard by closed benches. Only the lawyers of both sides are present in the hearing.
