KATHMANDU, July 20: The Meteorological Forecasting Division (MFD) under the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has reported the ongoing influence of monsoon winds across the country.
The monsoon low-pressure line is currently located south of its average position.
Over the next 24 hours, heavy rain is expected in some areas of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Sudurpaschim provinces.
Heavy rainfall likely in some provinces today
The MFD has urged everyone to take necessary precautions to avoid potential risks and damage from landslides, floods, and soil erosion in these regions.
According to the MFD, the weather is generally cloudy across the country, with light rain occurring in some areas of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, and Karnali provinces.
This afternoon, the weather is expected to remain partly to generally cloudy nationwide.
There is a possibility of light to moderate rain with thunderstorms in several areas of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, and Karnali provinces, as well as a few places in Madhesh province.
Tonight, light to moderate rain with thunderstorms is likely in some areas of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, and Sudurpaschim provinces, with a few places in other provinces experiencing similar conditions.
There is a possibility of heavy rain in a few places in Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Sudurpaschim provinces.
