KATHMANDU, June 28: Heavy rainfall is predicted in the eastern and central parts of the country starting Wednesday making the monsoon more active thereafter.
According to senior meteorologist Min Kumar Aryal, the monsoon that entered Nepali on July 11 was not so active until today but the monsoon will begin to rage after Wednesday.
Rain predicted in most parts of the country
Monsoon clouds are predicted to cause heavy rainfall in Province No 1, Province No 2 and most parts in Bagmati and Gandaki provinces, shared Aryal.
Monsoon-induced disasters such as landslides, flood and inundation are likely due to the heavy rainfall. Hence, the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has called for necessary precaution against possible disasters in the vulnerable areas.
Currently, the country is experiencing generally cloudy to completely cloudy weather. Light rainfall is being witnessed in a few parts of Province 1 and Gandaki Province, the Department said.
