KATHMANDU, Nov 16: Helpless cow protection campaign has demanded the establishment of Kanji House, a shelter for animals, at every local level. This is expected to expand the campaign launched by Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) as a helpless cattle free zone.

KATHMANDU, Nov 16: Helpless cow protection campaign has demanded the establishment of Kanji House, a shelter for animals, at every local level. This is expected to expand the campaign launched by Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) as a helpless cattle free zone. 


The campaign is currently working on advocacy to end the trend of leaving cattle stranded in the streets.

Expressing pleasure over the construction of a Kanji House in Dakshinkali by the Kathmandu Metropolitan City, the campaign Chairman Uttam Pudasaini urged people to take cattle to the Kanji House for their health checkup and quarantine them if they are found sick.


The campaign has so far rescued around 200 cows and calves and sheltered them at Gothatar of Kageshwori Manahara Municipality. Urging people to give stray cattle food, shelter, treatment and love, Chairman Pudasaini said they are ready to protect cows when they are rescued.
