High-ranking Indian military team in Kathmandu

KATHMANDU, Dec 19: A team including Lieutenant General JS Sandhu, Chief of Staff of the Army Training Command of the Indian Army, arrived in Kathmandu on Sunday.

KATHMANDU, Dec 19: A team including Lieutenant General JS Sandhu, Chief of Staff of the Army Training Command of the Indian Army, arrived in Kathmandu on Sunday.


According to the Public Relations Directorate of Nepal Army, the team of high-ranking officers of the Indian Army has come here to conduct an on-site observation and study visit as agreed in the meeting of the Bilateral Consultative Group on Security held between the Government of Nepal and the Government of India.

The agreement mentions that the high and middle level officers of the armies of the two countries will visit each other's countries for on-site observation and study.


The visiting party was received at the Tribhuvan International Airport by Rathi Vinod Kharel, Assistant Commander of the Army's No. 14 Wing. Lt. Gen. Sandhu will meet and discuss with Chief of Army Staff Prabhuram Sharma during his visit till December 24. 


Similarly, the Indian team is scheduled to visit the Command and Staff College, Nepali Army Academy, Nepali Army War College, Birendra Peace Training Center, West Pritna Headquarters, Nepali Army Battle School and religious and tourist places.
