Hiroshima Day commemoration in capital

KATHMANDU, Aug 6: Monday marked the 73rd atomic bombing at Hiroshima and remembered the people killed and injured and a call to eliminate nuclear weapons. A similar program was organized in the capital to commemorate the day.

Nepal Russian Science Society organized the program at Kamalpokhari-based Russian

Science and Culture Center in which the speakers urged to stop misuse of the nuclear weapons. Stating that Nepal lies in between two giant countries India and China, they warned against the consequences in the case of leakage of nuclear plant of either country. The organizers said that the main objective of the program is to stimulate the government to take action to protect the country in the worst case.


Each year on this very day, a special program is being celebrated globally to aware the people and the government of the respective countries against the effect and long-term consequences by the atomic weapons.
