KATHMANDU, March 5: Holi, the festival of colors in Nepal, began on Sunday as locals of Kathmandu completed the tradition of erecting a lingo (bamboo pole) covered with 'Chir' (pieces of different color cloths) in Bashantapur Durbar square.

Holi is celebrated by playing colors, water and music. People in hilly districts of Nepal will play holi on March 12 this year while people in Tarai will celebrate it next day.
