Home Minister Lamichhane urged immigration employees to treat migrant workers positively with sympathy and make them feel the change from today.

He said that immigration serves as the first impression of our nation for foreigners, “When the first impression is bad, a positive perception of the country can not be formed. Come up with immigration reform strategies, I assure full support from the ministry in its implementation."

He also stressed the importance of modernizing immigration processes to meet international standards. “There are some challenges in providing adequate training to the workforce and providing the workplace with resources. However, efforts should be continued” he said.

Lamichhane expressed his reluctance to assign blame for past incidents, urging that such occurrences and patterns should not recur. “Party affiliations should not lead individuals to believe they are immune from accountability,” he said.
