JANAKPURDHAM, May 1: Indian Prime Minister will directly arrive in Janakpur when he enters Nepal on May 11 on a religious visit.  The Indian Prime Minister will board an Indian Air Force airplane from New Delhi to reach Patna Airport from where he along with other delegates and his security will fly to Janakpur on three choppers.

On November 2014, Modi’s plan to enter Nepal through Janakpur was foiled after ‘security threats’.

Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa has left for Janakpur to assess security and other situations before Modi’s visit.

“PM Modi will visit the Janaki temple where he will perform religious worship rituals and prayers at the Bahra Bigaha area,” Thapa said adding that Modi would also visit Muktinath temple.

PM KP Sharma Oli and his Indian counterpart will meet at Janaki Temple and later inaugurate the Ramayan circuit. The Ramayana Circuit is one among the 13 tourist circuits under the Swadesh Darshan scheme of India.

This will be Modi’s third visit to Nepal, but the first after the country’s constitution was in 2015. The Home Affairs Minister made it clear that there will be no programs for political agreements this time and the visit would be religious and cultural.

“Security has been beefed up for PM Modi,” Thapa said adding that the visit would help strengthen the religious and cultural relations between the two countries.

A senior minister would welcome PM Modi, according to Kundan Aryal Press Advisor of the Prime Minister.
