Koiri, who was elected to the House of Representatives (HoR) from Mahottari-1, has been accused of murdering Assistant Sub Inspector Thaman Bishwakarma during the Madhesh protest.

"The ministry has written to the police headquarters requesting that the defendant be arrested and action be taken against him immediately," said the statement released on Friday by the Home Ministry Spokesperson Fanindra Mani Pokharel.

Earlier, Koiri had attended the HoR meeting on January 10 and voted in favor of Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal in the vote of confidence. He had also attended the oath-taking ceremony for new lawmakers.
