KATHMANDU, Jan 27: The Ministry of Home Affairs on Thursday formed a committee to probe the issues raised on a social networking site by Prem Prasad Acharya of Ilam district who self-immolated in Kathmandu. 


A six-member committee has been formed under the leadership of joint-secretary Narayan Prasad Risal. The committee includes under-secretaries from the Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supplies, Ministry of Labor, Employment and Social Security, Superintendent of Nepal Police and Assistant Investigation Director of National Investigation Department, the Home Minister’s Secretariat said.

The Home Minister’s press coordinator Nabaraj Pandey said that the committee is entrusted with the responsibility of probing all concerns raised in the social networking site by Acharya and offer recommendations on those issues. 


Earlier, a meeting of the Council of Ministers had decided to assign the home ministry to probe the issues and prepare a report on it at the earliest possible time. 


Acharya had self-immolated in Kathmandu on Tuesday and died while receiving treatment on Wednesday morning.
