DSP Umesh Joshi was deployed in the field during the Balkumari protest on Friday afternoon. The government is considering their suspension for their failure to exercise restraint during the incident.

Additionally, discussions have taken place regarding providing Rs 1 million in compensation to the families of the deceased individuals, Birendra Shah and Sujan Raut, who lost their lives in the Balkumari incident.

On Friday, the protest unfolded on the day of the EPS language exam, with police resorting to tear gas to control the demonstrators. Subsequently, enraged youths vandalised public vehicles and set fire to the vehicle of Physical Infrastructure and Transport Minister Prakash Jwala, intensifying tensions in the Balkumari area.
