HoR meeting resumes as UML lifts obstruction after 28 days (Live)

KATHMANDU, Aug 23: The House of Representatives (HoR) meeting resumed Wednesday afternoon after the obstruction of parliamentary proceedings for 28 days. The parliament resumed following an agreement among the major political parties in parliament to form a high-level inquiry commission to investigate and examine the gold smuggling cases.

KATHMANDU, Aug 23: The House of Representatives (HoR) meeting resumed Wednesday afternoon after the obstruction of parliamentary proceedings for 28 days. The parliament resumed following an agreement among the major political parties in parliament to form a high-level inquiry commission to investigate and examine the gold smuggling cases.

Earlier, the main opposition party, CPN-UML, had demanded that a separate parliamentary probe committee be formed to conduct investigation into the case of over 60 kg gold smuggled on July 18. With this demand, the CPN-UML had not allowed the HoR meeting to proceed since July 26.
