KATHMANDU, Oct 23: The Taleju Bhawani temple in Hanuman Dhoka Palace has been opened to the public today. The temple of Taleju Bhawani, which opens only once a year on the day of Mahanawami, is crowded with devotees.
Taleju Bhawani was brought to the main square of Hanuman Dhoka's palace on the auspicious day of Phulpati. Taleju Bhavani will be returned to the original temple only in the morning on Vijayadashami, according to the Hanuman Dhoka Durbar Care Center.
Taleju Bhavani Temple opened for a day
On the night of Maha Ashtami, 54 goats and 54 oxen were sacrificed. Kalaratri Puja was performed on Sunday night using tantric methods to seek divine blessings for the governance of the state.
It is believed that if one visits this temple, one can get rid of diseases and get family happiness and prosperity. Apart from the three cities of the Kathmandu Valley, there is a temple of Taleju Bhavani in places like Nuwakot, Kavre, Dolakha, Nala, Hyderabad and Tibet in India.
As the ancient pagoda-style temple is opened only once a year, it is visited by devotees with special significance. According to the Center, the Nepali Army, Nepal Police, local clubs, Red Cross, Scouts etc, have managed the line of devotees.
