Huge property gutted in Damak fire

JHAPA, Jan 15: Nine shops were gutted in a fire that broke out early this morning at Namuna bazaar of Damak in Jhapa district. Police said that a huge property was damaged in the fire.

JHAPA, Jan 15: Nine shops were gutted in a fire that broke out early this morning at Namuna bazaar of Damak in Jhapa district. Police said that a huge property was damaged in the fire.


Entire goods of the shops, mostly the shops of shoes and garments were destroyed in the fire that broke out at 2AM this morning.

Reasons behind the fire are not ascertained as yet. However, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) of Area Police Office, Damak, Dilip Giri said that the fire could have occurred due to power leakage.


The police are collecting the details of the losses.


The fire was doused at 5AM this morning with the efforts of local residents, police and fire engines from Damak, Kamala, Gauradaha, Kanepokhari and other local units in Jhapa.
