KATHMANDU, March 14: The Human Rights and Peace Society has demanded legal action against the suspended Chief Justice Cholendra SJB Rana by passing the impeachment motion registered in parliament against him.

Chairman Govinda KhanaI issued a statement at the 24th meeting of the society demanding legal action against CJ Rana today. More than 200 human rights activists from different districts participated in the meeting held at Banganga of Kapilvastu on March 11 and 12.


The meeting also demanded special initiatives for the cleansing of the judiciary by passing the impeachment motion against the suspended Chief Justice Rana and removing him from the crucial post. Similarly, the meeting called on Russia to immediately withdraw its troops, stop fighting and contribute to the survival of the Ukrainian people and all people in Ukraine.
