Hundred cows sent back to Nepalgunj

SURKHET, Aug 31: Nepalgunj Sub-metropolitan city has received one hundred cows back on Friday night which were left stranded in Birendranagar.

SURKHET, Aug 31: Nepalgunj Sub-metropolitan city has received one hundred cows back on Friday night which were left stranded in Birendranagar. 


According to the provincial police office, 291 cows being taken to Shreesthan, Dailekh from Kanjihouse, Nepalgunj had been left at Katkuwa and Dhuliyabit forest areas in Birendranagar on Thursday night. Of them, 24 cows were found dead at Katkuwa and Dhuliyabit areas. Nine cows were found to have dropped from Selfydanda near Katkuwa, it is reported.

Purna Chandra Joshi, Provincial Police In-charge and DIG told Republica Online that a hundred cows left in different parts of Birendranagar were sent to Nepalgunj laden in eight trucks.


"We have already initiated the process of finding more stray cattle and hand over to the concerned authority," Joshi further added. 


Police held five truck drivers and took their vehicles under control after the incident.
