RASUWA, Sept 24: Upper Trishuli Hydropower Project (UTHP) based in Haskubesi, Rasuwa has distributed food items to 710 earthquake victim families in the district. It has provided food items to the earthquake-displaced families living in Uttargaya Rural Municipality-1.
Bam Bahadur Tamang, ward chairman of Uttargaya Rural Municipality-1 said, “Foods products have been distributed to all the earthquake-displaced families in the ward,” adding, “About 710 households benefitted from the aid.”
New agreement could further delay grant distribution
According to Suman Bhatta, the hydropower project's information officer, the project distributed rice and cooking oil to the victims.
Ramesh Ghale, a local of Haku affirmed, “The relief is appreciable.”
After the earthquake, landslides have occurred in the district displacing several families. People haven't returned their homes after the earthquake in April 2015. Victims of the earthquake from Mailung, Dadagaun, Tiru and Gagane have been living in the same ward.
“The government hasn't taken any step for rehabilitating the victims,” stated Tamang, adding, “We are fed up of listening to hollow promises of officials.”
