KATHMANDU, Aug 5: Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) lawmaker Sobita Gautam has brought to the attention of the House of Representatives (HoR) an incident where she was “subjected to indecent behavior” in public on Sunday.

She reported that the incident occurred in the evening when she had gone to observe the effects of a landslide in Manakamana Tole, Kageshwori-Manohara-6 of Kathmandu, which also falls in her electoral constituency.

According to Gautam, around 15 to 20 youths gathered and behaved indecently with her while she was returning from the landslide site. “They were not in a normal condition. Some of them were under the influence of weed and others were drunk,” she said.

She also mentioned finding a video of the incident on social media, uploaded by one of the perpetrators. “When I checked the profile of the person who had uploaded the video, I found that it was the same individual who abused me. He was a person associated with a youth wing of a national party, and held a responsible position,” she said.
