KATHMANDU, August 19: Chairman of the CPN-UML, KP Sharma Oli has claimed that Chairman of CPN-UML (Socialist), Madhav Kumar Nepal, won’t be able to garner the support of even 10 percent of Central Committee (CC) or Parliamentary Party (PP) members of the party.
Addressing an event organized by the party’s District Committee, Bhaktapur on Thursday, Oli maintained that the powers trying to weaken the CPN-UML will get dismissed soon. “We will rather get stronger in the coming days,” he added.
APF prohibits its members from soliciting political support
Oli has also accused the government of willingly introducing the ‘party-split’ ordinance to split the CPN-UML.
“If we want CPN-UML (Socialist) won’t be able to garner the support of even 10 percent of CC or PP members, forget 20 percent,” said Oli.
With the introduction of the ‘party-split’ ordinance, any political party can now split if 20 percent of CC or PP members stand in its favor.
