KATHMANDU, July 17: Nepal Family Party has stated that the peaceful transfer of power made by the Chairman of the CPN-UML and the outgoing Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli as per the Supreme Court’s order has further strengthened Nepal's democracy.

Making the party's statement public through social media, Chairman Eknath Dhakal thanked the country's largest political party for setting a good example of lasting peace and constitutional supremacy by implementing the court's decision despite its disagreements.

Chairman Dhakal has suggested the newly-appointed Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba and the political parties of the ruling coalition to move forward by reaching a broad agreement on the national issue of public importance.

Stating that the politics of revenge will upset the citizens and waste the precious time of the country, Chairman Dhakal also suggested that government should make a consensus on important issues such as providing free vaccination to all citizens in time and immediate relief to victims of natural disasters, conducting economic diplomacy focused on Nepal's interest and  ensuring guarantee of employment to youths.

Considering the economic burden of the country, the family party has suggested reaching an understanding between the major political parties of the country to hold the elections to the House of Representatives and the Provincial Assemblies together. The party also suggested the government to form a "National Economic Development Commission" comprising experts to uplift the Nepalese economy affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Family Party has also demanded the formation of a "Constitution Reform Recommendation Commission" to address the concerns of disgruntled groups and bring reforms in the existing electoral system before the next election including a provision of directly elected executive, a fully-proportional parliament to make the constitution widely acceptable.
