Increasing cold affecting Tarai region

SAPTARI, Dec 13: Cold wave has started affecting daily life in Mid-Terai since the mercury has begun to plummet for few days. 


A local Mukesh Yadav has shared that there is no sunshine in places of Mid-Terai for few days. The mobility of vehicles and people in the highway including in the district headquarters, Rajbiraj is also less owing to the steep increase in cold.

The cold wave and thick fog have affected mainly people with chronic diseases, respiratory problems and children and elderly people, it is learnt. 


A large number of people were found thronging the Gajendra Narayan Singh Sagarmatha Hospital these days, hospital sources said. 


Doctors and health workers have shared that the people, especially elderly and children, have been reported to have suffered from common cold, fever, pneumonia among others with the increasing cold. 


They have suggested locals to put on warm clothes and pay attention to diet to combat cold. 


It may be noted that, locals are arranging firewood to light fire in the thoroughfares in various places in the region. RSS
