DANG, June 22: At a time when the various political parties are forging an electoral alliance in view of the second round of local elections slated for June 28, independent candidates have also taken this approach to turn the table in their favor.
The alliance has been forged for the posts ranging from mayor to deputy-mayor and chief to deputy chief and ward chair to ward member of rural municipality.
Nepali Congress (NC) leader Dilli Bahadur Khadka was in the race of Mayor of Lamahi Municipality. His uncle, Khum Bahadur Khadka, totally assured of providing him a ticket but Khum Khadka changed his decision. Khadka, who had the responsibility of distributing election tickets in Dang, gave it to Jog Raj Chaudhari, who he thought was a more trustworthy person.

Now, his nephew has stood like a wall in front of him to get the mayoral post.
Dilli Bahadur has now rebelled against NC after his uncle broke his promises by giving a ticket to another person.
Now, he has found a strong fellow candidate, Nim Bahadur Thapa, who has already been nominated as an independent candidate for the deputy mayoral post.
Dilli Bahadur and Thapa have opted for an alliance as independent candidates for mayor and deputy-mayoral posts.
Dilli Bahadur said, “I am contesting the local elections as a mayoral candidate while Nim Bahadur as a deputy-mayoral candidate.’’
Khadka has got camera as an election symbol while Thapa a selroti. These two candidates have forged an alliance by asking to vote each other.
