India 76-2 after winning toss against New Zealand

INDORE, India, Oct 8:  India elected to bat first in the third test against New Zealand in Indore, after Virat Kohli won the toss on Saturday for a third time running.

INDORE, India, Oct 8:  India reached a moderate 75-2 at lunch on day one of the third test against New Zealand, having won the toss and electing to bat on Saturday.


Murali Vijay fell for 10 when spin was introduced in just the fifth over on a dry and cracked pitch, caught by Tom Latham at short leg off the bowling of Jeetan Patel.


Gautam Gambhir returned to the test eleven after a gap of two years and hit two sixes before he was out for 29, lbw to Trent Boult.

Cheteshwar Pujara, on 29, and Virat Kohli, on seven, were the not out batsmen at lunch.


It is the first test hosted in Indore, which becomes the 22nd test venue in the country.
