KATHMANDU, Nov 7: The government will hold talks with the southern neighbor India to resolve existing border disputes through diplomatic channels, spokesperson of the government Gokul Prasad Baskota said on Thursday.

During a weekly press briefing held at the Ministry of Communications and Technology to share the cabinet decisions, the minister said that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has already made it clear that Kalapani is an integral part of Nepal.

"The Nepal government has already disapproved the political map unveiled by India that has placed our Nepali territory Kalapani inside India. Now, the government will hold talks with India to resolve existing border disputes through diplomatic channels," he said.

Talking about prevailing border disputes with India, the spokesperson said that India has encroached upon two percent Nepali territory based on the historic facts collected by the government.

"We have evidence that India has encroached upon two percent Nepali territory," he said adding that the government will leave no stone unturned to protect its sovereign territories.

Responding to a media query, Baskota said that the Nepal government is committed to preventing Nepali territory from being used by external or domestic terrorist groups. "Nobody has the right to carry out activities in Nepal by going against the laws of the land," he asserted.
