Indian army chief meets his Nepali counterpart

KATHMANDU, Sept 5: : General Manoj Pande, Chief of Army Staff (CoAS), Indian Army, has met his Nepali counterpart CoAS General Prabhu Ram Sharma at the latter's office at the Army Headquarters on Monday.

KATHMANDU, Sept 5: General Manoj Pande, Chief of Army Staff (CoAS), Indian Army, has met his Nepali counterpart CoAS General Prabhu Ram Sharma at the latter's office at the Army Headquarters on Monday.


General Manoj Pande handed over various non-lethal military items to General Prabhu Ram Sharma as well.

The Indian army chief is on a five–day visit to Nepal at the official invitation of CoAS Sharma. 


On the occasion, General Pande also planted a sapling on the premises of the main building at the Army Headquarters. Prior to this, he laid a wreath and paid tributes to the 'Brave Soldiers' at the Bir Smarak at the army pavilion, Tundikhel.


Similarly, President Bidya Devi Bhandari will confer on General Pande the insignia of the honorary title of General of the Nepali Army at a special ceremony at the Rashtrapati Bhawan today. President Bhandari is the Supreme Commander of the Nepali Army. The Indian Army chief arrived here on Sunday.
