Indian embassy provides support to Sindhuli institute

KATHMANDU, Feb 16: Gyanveer Singh, second secretary at the Embassy of India, Kathmandu; Shiva Humagain, local development officer, Sindhuli; and Ambar Deep Devkota, principal of Sindhuli Community Technical Institute (SCTI), signed a memorandum of understanding for the construction of a three-storey building with 19 rooms, computer and internet lab and a reading room with other facilities.

KATHMANDU, Feb 16: Gyanveer Singh, second secretary at the Embassy of India, Kathmandu; Shiva Humagain, local development officer, Sindhuli; and Ambar Deep Devkota, principal of Sindhuli Community Technical Institute (SCTI), signed a memorandum of understanding for the construction of a three-storey building with 19 rooms, computer and internet lab and a reading room with other facilities.



As per the MoU, India will provide 44 million rupees for the construction of a new building for SCTI in Sindhuli. According to the MoU, the agreement has been signed under a Small Development Program Scheme as part of India-Nepal Economic Cooperation Program. 



The statement issued on Thursday stated that the MoU was signed at Sindhuli in the presence of Indian ambassador Ranjit Rae. It said that the new infrastructure would provide classroom space and would create an improved environment for learning and contribute to the development of the technical education in the district. 



"The project would be completed in 15 months as envisaged in the MoU, according to which the District Development Committee would prepare a work schedule, invite tenders for the construction of the project and get the project completed on time,” said Rae.



He added that the Government of India has provided financial assistance of Rs 109 million for different projects and seven ambulances recognizing the need of the people in the district.
