Indian Foreign Minister Jaishankar to spend 26 hours in Kathmandu

LAHAN, Jan 4: Indian Foreign Minister Dr Subrahmanyam (S) Jaishankar will spend 26 hours in Nepal. He is scheduled to arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) at 10 AM today to participate in the Nepal-India Joint Commission (JC) meeting.

LAHAN, Jan 4: Indian Foreign Minister Dr Subrahmanyam (S) Jaishankar will spend 26 hours in Nepal. He is scheduled to arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) at 10 AM today to participate in the Nepal-India Joint Commission (JC) meeting.


Minister Jaishankar is scheduled to land in Kathmandu by a special plane of the Indian Army.

His 26-hour programs include landing at Tribhuvan International Airport on Thursday at 10AM, meeting with the President at Shital Niwas at 11AM, Prime Minister in Baluwatar at 12 noon and Foreign Minister NP Saud at Yak & Yeti Hotel at 1PM.


He will then attend the JC meeting between the two countries at 1:15PM and witness agreement signing ceremony at 1:45PM. He will attend the lunch reception hosted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs at 2PM.


Jaishankar is also holding a meeting with former Prime Minister and Nepali Congress (NC) President Sher Bahadur Deuba and former Prime Minister and CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli in the afternoon. He will also attend a dinner reception at Solti Hotel in the evening.


Jaishankar will visit Pashupatinath Temple and inaugurate the library and other physical infrastructure built with the Indian assistance at Tribhuvan University in Kirtipur on Friday morning. He is scheduled to fly back home in the afternoon.
