A major bottleneck in Nepal’s infrastructure development has been seen due to lack of coordination among different government authorities. Mostly, this problem is apparent in road maintenance regarding the issues like related to underground cables, pipeline of drinking water and sewage pipes, among others.
For developing a hydropower project, approvals are required from seven ministries and 23 departments along with a need to follow 36 acts. The logistics cost in Nepal is one of the highest in the region, with road transport being the primary source of logistics.
The Indian success stories to be shared in the upcoming mega event is expected to facilitate the Nepali policy makers and entrepreneurs to work differently towards infrastructure development in the country, reads a CNI issued press release.
The gathering, which is claimed to be one of the largest of its type in the country’s infrastructure event, is expected to draw more than 1,000 delegates from more than 25 countries.
