PM Dahal was responding to concerns raised by a delegation led by the leader of indigenous nationalities Padma Ratna Tuladhar about the amendment proposal the government is due to register in Parliament.

The delegation also submitted a memorandum to PM Dahal with suggestions in relation to the amendment, said PM's private Secretariat.

The memo demanded that the amendment proposal should propose 10 provinces instead of existing seven, based on the report made by the first Constituent Assembly's Committee on State Restructuring and Distribution of State Power and the State Restructuring Commission.

If not this, the issue of the delineation of provincial boundaries should be settled by forming a powerful commission entrusting it with mandate as per the report, the note said. RSS
