Industry Minister Hamal announces to resign from his post

KATHMANDU, Oct 10: Newly-appointed Minister for Industry, Commerce and Supplies Gajendra Bahadur Hamal, who has been accused of becoming a minister from the quota of Chief Justice Cholendra Shamsher JB Rana, has said that he will submit his resignation to Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba today.

KATHMANDU, Oct 10: Newly-appointed Minister for Industry, Commerce and Supplies Gajendra Bahadur Hamal, who has been accused of becoming a minister from the quota of Chief Justice Cholendra Shamsher JB Rana, has said that he will submit his resignation to Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba today.


“I have decided to resign out of my conscience,” Hamal told Republica over telephone on Sunday. "I will submit my resignation to the prime minister today."

“The man who has been contributing to the Nepali Congress for 45 years has been dragged into unnecessary controversy,” said Hamal. “Many have requested me to not resign from the post but I will resign.”


He claimed that not being a minister would not make any difference to him as he is doing politics out of conviction and loyalty to the nation.
