Deputy Mayor’s car knocks an infant to death in Dhanusha

KATHMANDU, May 1: An infant died when a SUV belonging to Deputy Mayor of Hansapur municipality in Dhanusha ran over her on Sunday.

KATHMANDU, May 1: An infant died when a SUV belonging to Deputy Mayor of Hansapur municipality in Dhanusha ran over her on Sunday. 


The deceased has been identified as Laxmi Niya Kumari, a 14-month-old infant from Hansapur Municipality, Dhanusha.

The infant died on the spot when the SUV used by the Deputy Mayor of Hansapur, Durga Devi Mandal ran over her.


According  to Deputy Superintendent of Police of Dhanusha Police Office, Bed Prasad Gautam, the girl was crushed by the Tata Sumo SUV when it was reversing outside the baby’s home on Sunday afternoon.


“The deceased is deputy mayor’s granddaughter,” DSP Gautam said, “The SUV and its driver Dipendra Kumar Raya have been taken under police custody.”
