With the proliferation of smart phones comes the increase of strangers in the teenage online community.



Now a bully can message almost anyone from their school through face book.



A predator can interact with youth through a forum with a false identity. This increase in mass social interaction leads to extreme statistics on cyber bullying.



Thirty three percent of teens admit to being cyber bullied in the past. The safety of our prosperity online is a growing problem and will only become worse as technology continues to connect us in more ways.



Here are the few statistics of teen safety on internet:



Smartphone’s are the most common device for cyber bullying,  80 percent of teens use smart phones regularly, 33 percent of kids age 12-17 are victims of cyber bullying, 10 percent of teens will report cyber bullying to their parents, 25 percent of kids say they have been bullied online more than once, 90 percent of children have witnessed social media bullying, 40 percent of kids say they hide what they are doing if parents are watching, 65 percent of cyber stalkers use social media to discover school and home information, 32 percent of teens are admitted to erasing their search history to hide websites they visited, 82 percent of cyber stalkers use social media to find out information about their victims, 73 percent of teens have social media and one in 20 admitted to arranging a secret meeting with someone they met online.
