POKHARA, Jan 30: A woman died on Monday morning in Kanhu khola of Pokhara Metropolitan City-13, while trying to save a man who tried to self-immolate himself. The man is injured and is receiving medical treatment.
According to Kaski Police Spokesperson Police Inspector Subas Timilsena, Sangeeta Sapkota, 40, of Kahukhola, who was burnt in the fire, died on Monday morning at the Western Regional Hospital.

Krishna Chhetri, 43, who was running a stationery shop, had set himself on fire by pouring petrol on his body. When Sapkota went to rescue Chhetri, even Sapkota was burnt. Timilsena said that the injured Chhetri is currently being treated at the hospital. Police said that the health of the man undergoing treatment is improving.
Chhetri entered the bathroom and poured petrol on the body and set himself on fire. Sapkota, who went to douse the fire and save Chhetri, was burned even more than Chhetri. Sapkota has sacrificed her life in order to save Chhetri. Chhetri was operating a stationery shop by renting the shutters of Sapkota’s house.
