Int'l conference against chhau practice

KATHMANDU, Feb 24: The Ministry of Women, Children and Senior Citizens is organizing an international conference in Kathmandu from May 26 to 28 with the aim of ending chhaupadi practice, under which women are banished to sheds (chau) during their monthly period.

KATHMANDU, Feb 24: The Ministry of Women, Children and Senior Citizens is organizing an international conference in Kathmandu from May 26 to 28 with the aim of ending chhaupadi practice, under which women are banished to sheds (chau) during their monthly period. 


Organizing a press meet at the ministry on Sunday, Minister for Women, Children and Senior Citizens, Parbat Gurung, said that the international conference is being organized with the aim to end chhaupadi practice in the country.
