Int'l Taekwondo Championship to kick off from Feb 9

KATHMANDU, Feb 3: The first Kathmandu International Kyorugi and Pumse Taekwondo Championship is going to take place from February 9 to 11 in Kathmandu.

KATHMANDU, Feb 3: The first Kathmandu International Kyorugi and Pumse Taekwondo Championship is going to take place from February 9 to 11 in Kathmandu. 


The United Taekwondo Dojang affiliated to Nepal Taekwondo Association is organizing the championship to be held at the National Sports Council's covered hall at local Tripureshwar, Norbu Lama, the coordinator of the championship, said at a news conference on Thursday.

As many as 500 players from Nepal, Korea, India, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Malaysia, Indonesia and Singapore are participating in the championship. The championship will be held under different categories as the 12 to 14 years age group women and men’s cadet, the 15 to 17 years age group women and men's bout and the above 17 years senior women and men's bout. 


A total of 78 gold medals would be up for grabs in the championship, including 40 towards fight (kyorugi) and 38 towards pumse. RSS
