Int'l tourism fair concludes, draws over 5,000 visitors

KATHMANDU, June 16: The two-day Nepal International Tourism Fair, organized with the aim of promoting tourism at the international level, concluded on Saturday.


Addressing the concluding ceremony of the fair, which was organized by Summit Events Markets with the support of the Nepal Tourism Board and Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC), Deputy Mayor of KMC Sunita Dangol said that the continuation of such programs is necessary for the promotion of tourism in Nepal. She further promised that the KMC will always support and help in the promotion of heritage and tourist areas in Kathmandu. Dangol asked the participants of the fair to go to their respective countries and inform people about the touristic places of Nepal.

Vice-Chair of the Nepal Tourism Board Ram Prasad Sapkota mentioned that the fair has helped to promote Nepal's tourism in the international market. He said that the efforts of the private sector are commendable.


The tourism fair also had the participation of the Malaysia Tourism Board and the Bihar Tourism Board of India. There were stalls from 150 tourism professionals from 16 countries.


Managing Director of Summit Events Markets, Bishnu Pandey, informed that more than five thousand people attended the two-day fair. A group discussion related to tourism promotion was held at the fair. With the successful completion of the first fair organized by the private sector, the organizers have also announced that the second edition will be held on May 30 and 31 next year.
