It was July 30, 2004.  The Department of Foreign Employment under the Nepal government granted 35 Nepali people permission to go to work in Middle East country Jordan.


A month after the permission was granted came the appalling news stating that 12 Nepalis were brutally killed in the war-torn country Iraq, leaving the entire world shocked.

Bhatta was one among those 12 Nepalis receiving the work permit.


Bhatta, who narrowly escaped being killed, recalls the horrendous ordeal on the 14th anniversary of the gruesome inhumane act.
