KATHMANDU, May 2: Kathmandu looks beautiful these days. The air pollution level has drastically plummeted. According to the data received from pollution monitoring devices installed at different places in the Kathmandu Valley, the average air quality index (AQI) stands around 60 μg/m3.
Kathmandu looks beautiful not only because of the pollution-free air amid the ongoing prohibitory orders imposed to break the transmission chain of COVID-19, but also due to the blossoming jacarandas in the city.

Streets in the heart of the capital turned purple as the lavender-ish flowers bloom at their best. Amid the heightened fear of the novel coronavirus in Nepal, jacarandas, to some extent, soothe human hearts.
Here are a few shots captured at Singha Durbar, Sundhara, Durbarmarg and Ghantaghar areas in the capital earlier on Sunday.
