SURKHET, Nov 6: It has been found that almost half of those who died in the Jajarkot earthquake were children. According to the data provided by the police, 78 of the 157 people who died in the earthquake that occurred on the night of November 3 were children.
According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Santosh Roka, 50 children died in Jajarkot and 28 in Rukum West in the earthquake. According to him, almost half of the deaths in both districts are children. Roka said that 27 boys and 23 girls were among the 150 people who died in Jajarkot.

Likewise, District Police Chief Namraj Bhattarai said that 52 people died in the earthquake in Rukum West, 28 of whom were children. He said, “Most of those who died in the earthquake in Rukum West are children. Two 10-month-old children also lost their lives.”

According to the police, women are more among those who died in the earthquake after children. According to the police, 50 children, 33 women and 18 men died in Jajarkot out of one hundred and five, DSP Roka of Jajarkot said. Similarly, 16 women and eight men died in Rukum West.
