KATHMANDU, March 12: The CK Raut-led Janamat Party has made it clear that it will not join the new alliance.


The central secretariat meeting of the Janamat Party has mentioned in a statement that it has decided not to participate in the alliance of CPN (Maoist Center), CPN-UML, CPN (Unified Socialist) and Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP).

Publicizing the decision of the meeting, the national spokesperson for Janamat Party, Sharad Singh Yadav said that the party has decided not to support the government immediately.


The meeting has decided to participate in the by-elections to be held in Ilam 2 on April 27 and the Provincial Assembly elections to be held in Bajhang. It is mentioned in the statement issued by Spokesperson Yadav that the party will field its own candidates in the  by-elections.


The party has also demanded the government discuss the report given by the committee formed to investigate the incident that happened on February 22 in Saptari and move ahead accordingly.
