Japan extends scholarship scheme for Nepal government officers

KATHAMANDU, July 7: Representatives of Nepal Government and Japanese Government have signed an agreement to extend  scholarship program designated for Nepal government officers and funded by Japanese Government.

KATHAMANDU, July 7: Representatives of Nepal Government and Japanese Government have signed an agreement to extend  scholarship program designated for Nepal government officers and funded by Japanese Government.


Japanese ambassador to Nepal Masashi Ogawa and Secretary at the Ministry of Finance Shanta Raj Subedi signed the agreement to extend scholarship scheme amounting to Rs. 257,000,000 intended for officers working as Nepal government employees.

This scheme began in 2016. 20 Nepal government officers were selected under this scheme last year. They are currently pursuing a Master’s Degree in  eight universities in Japan. 20 Government officers have also been selected for the year 2017.


This scholarship scheme is intended to  contribute to Nepal’s development by helping its employees equip themselves with knowledge sine qua non for being capable of contributing to development process.
